Join us at the Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event to race through the beautiful grounds and surrounding area of stunning South Galway. Lough Cutra Castle Multisport event is the backdrop to this festival of triathlon and multisport event in County Galway.
The Castle, built during the Gothic revival period and once home to now King Charles during a 3-day visit to Ireland, is idyllically situated overlooking the Estate’s 1,000 acre lake; the largest privately owned lake in Europe and home to this event’s open-water swims.
Throughout the weekend, athletes and spectators will be able to enjoy the grounds and a fun-packed festival village featuring live music, shopping, food and drink, children’s entertainment, yoga and more.
This family friendly event features some truly iconic courses in the west of Ireland. The weekend will host a vast range of races for all ages and abilities.
Whether you’re 9 or 90 years old, a first-timer or an elite, you can pick from our triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, run and swim races at Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event.

We are delighted to confirm that the 2026 Lough Cutra Castle event will be sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland and therefore competitors taking part in the triathlon / multisport races will be required to produce either valid membership licence or purchase a Triathlon Ireland Day Licence.
We will notify you once our 2026 races go live on the Triathlon Ireland website for the purposes of One Day Membership purchases.
12-13 years triathlon and 14-15 years triathlon is a tarmac bike course on closed roads
9-10 years triathlon and 11-12 years triathlon is off-road, mountain bike advisable
