The Château de Chantilly is a historic French castle located in the town of Chantilly, just north of Paris. Originally built in the Middle Ages and rebuilt in the 19th century, it houses the Musée Condé, renowned for its impressive art collection. Surrounded by formal gardens and a vast forest, the château is a symbol of French heritage and aristocratic elegance.

Getting to Chantilly

Chantilly is located in northern France, specifically in the Oise department within the Hauts-de-France region. It’s situated about 26 miles (42 km) north of Paris.

BY AIR

The closest major airport is Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), just 30 minutes from Chantilly by car or train. UK and international visitors can also fly into Paris Orly (ORY) or Beauvais-Tillé (BVA), with transfers taking around an hour.

BY TRAIN

The easiest way to reach Chantilly from Paris is by train. Direct services from Paris Gare du Nord take just 25 minutes to Chantilly-Gouvieux Station. If you’re coming from the UK, Eurostar runs from London to Paris Gare du Nord in under 2.5 hours.

 

BY FERRY AND CAR

For those driving, the best ferry routes are Dover to Calais or Portsmouth to Le Havre, followed by a 2.5-3 hour drive to Chantilly.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

Taxis and buses are available from the train station, but many visitors opt to cycle or walk around Chantilly, especially with bike-friendly routes leading to the race venue.
