Châteu de Chantilly 2026 Race Report
09.06.26

Château de Chantilly delivered. Again. And this year, it delivered everything. Saturday threw three seasons at us in a single day. You didn't blink. Sunday? Different story entirely. Sun out, heat on, atmosphere electric. Then the numbers dropped — and they were record-breaking. Nearly 6,000 competitors. The biggest field we've ever seen. Every single one left it all on course. And The Bastion? Hundreds of athletes took on the full iron-distance challenge and dug deep all the way to that finish line. The performances were extraordinary. What a weekend. What a race. What a community.

DAY ONE

THE MORNING

Le Condé (Sprint Plus) got the weekend underway in style — and what an opener it was. 450 triathletes spread across four waves brought incredible energy to the course right from the gun, setting the tone for everything that followed. The racing was sharp, the competition fierce, and the crowd already in full voice. Congratulations to Loic and Isadora, who led from the front and were the first to break the finish line tape.

With that benchmark set, the momentum only grew. Later in the day, nearly 700 more athletes flooded the course as the Sprint and Super Sprint races got underway — bringing fresh legs, fresh battles, and even more drama.

SWIMMING INTO ACTION

At 12:00, the waters of Chantilly came alive as the Castle Swim Series made its highly anticipated first appearance of the weekend.

The 5K swimmers led the charge — diving in and immediately setting a stunning scene across the lake. Within minutes, the 2.5K and 1 mile swims followed, filling the water with hundreds of swimmers all pushing hard from the very first stroke. By 12:30, the lake was at its most spectacular — every single swimmer out there, battling the distance, the conditions, and each other.

JUNIORS TAKEOVER

Children aged just 8 all the way through to 15 took to the lake, pulled on their goggles, and lined up with the kind of fearless energy that only young athletes can bring. Swim, bike, run — every single one of them gave it absolutely everything, racing with heart, grit and smiles that never faded.

To every junior triathlete who competed: we could not be more proud. Stepping up to the start line takes courage at any age — but doing it at 8, 9, 10 years old? That’s something extraordinary. This is only the beginning of your journey, and we have no doubt you’ll go on to achieve incredible things — in triathlon and far beyond it.

DAY 2

THE BASTION BRAVES & GAUNTLET GO GETTERS

Sunday. 07:00. The claxon sounded — and 160 extraordinary athletes stepped into the unknown.

The Bastion. 3,800m in the water. 180.2km on the bike. 42.2km on foot. One of the most demanding challenges in triathlon — and every single one of them had chosen to be there.

Maxime and Julie from the open category led the way home, conquering the course in 8h 18minutes and 10hours 42minutes respectively — performances that deserve every bit of recognition they get.

Bastion continued...

But The Bastion isn’t just about the front of the race. It never has been. From the first finisher to the very last, the atmosphere around that finish line never dropped for a single second.  One of the most electric moments of the entire weekend came when the final Bastion competitor came into view. The crowd, the volunteers, the fellow athletes — everyone came together to roar them home across those final few hundred metres of a 226,200m journey. Spine-tingling doesn’t cover it.

Run Series

As the morning drew to a close, Chantilly took on a new energy as the Castle Run Series got underway.

The 10K runners set off first, threading their way through one of the most breathtaking run courses in the series. The half marathon field followed shortly after, before the marathon competitors — the final wave of the weekend — were sent on their way. Three distances, hundreds of runners, and one stunning backdrop that made every kilometre worth it.

DUATHLON TAKES THE STAGE

The afternoon opened with the Duathlon — a punishing but exhilarating 10K run, 40K cycle and 6K run that demanded strength, pacing and sheer determination from start to finish.

Then came the moment the weekend had been building towards — the Standard Distance Triathlon. The final race. The final chapter of an incredible two days at Chantilly.

Over 1,277 triathletes spread across seven waves took to the water, the road and the run course for one last time, each one tackling a 1,500m swim, 40K cycle and 10K run. The atmosphere was everything you’d expect from a crowd that had been cheering all weekend — loud, electric and completely unwilling to let the energy drop.
