Getting to Belvoir

Belvoir Castle, in Leicestershire’s East Midlands, sits atop a hill overlooking the Vale of Belvoir. Just 45 minutes from Nottingham and under an hour from Leicester, it’s surrounded by gardens and historic parkland with sweeping views.

The nearest major airports are East Midlands (EMA), 50 mins away and Birmingham (BHX), just over 1 hour by car.

BY TRAIN

The closest train stations are Grantham and Melton Mowbray, with regular services from London, Nottingham, and other major cities. From Grantham, it’s around a 20-minute taxi ride to the castle.

BY FERRY AND CAR

From Ireland, ferries from Dublin to Holyhead or Belfast to Liverpool offer easy access, with a 3–4 hour drive to Belvoir Castle. From Calais, it’s about 5.5 hours via the Channel Tunnel or ferry. Felixstowe is around 2.5 hours by road. The castle is well connected via the A1 and A52, with easy access from London, Nottingham, Leicester, and Lincoln.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

A car is the easiest way to reach and explore the area due to its rural location. Taxis are available from Grantham and Melton Mowbray, and limited local buses serve nearby villages
