Penshurst Place Race Report
30.06.21

On Sunday 27th June, we launched our brand new Running Festival in the beautiful grounds of Penshurst Place in Kent.

Throughout the day, runners and spectators were welcomed to the Festival Village by Mike Clyne on the mic and live music from Long Wave.

Group warm ups were run by Will Holme from Holme Run Fitness before runners were led by Race Director, Brian Adcock to the start line and set off!

You can relive the event via Sports Action Photography’s fantastic photo gallery.

Special mentions go to Steven London who won the male 10K race (39:18) and was also one of our fantastic charity runners raising money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Emma Pocock was the first female home, completing the very hilly course in an impressive time of 53:03. The 5K races were won by Charlie Mottram (23:01) and Estelle Constantine (24:51). And of course, a huge well done to everyone who took part.

As the timed runners were making their way around the course, colour runners arrived in droves, donned their white t-shirts and coloured dye began to fly!

Families, individuals and unicorns set off around the three different courses – 5K, 3.5K and 1K – to be greeted by multiple dye and foam stations dotted around the beautiful estate grounds.

Then, back to the Festival Village to enjoy the live music; enjoy burgers from Chunky’s, flapjacks from Oatopia, drinks from BeerFest; and stock up on Run or Dye merchandise.

Throughout the weekend people shared fantastic photos and comments across our social media and RaceCheck reviews. We love to hear how your races went…

“I ran with my daughter aged 7 today and we had so much fun. The event was so well organised from booking right up until we had finished. Plenty of staff, wonderful atmosphere and we felt very safe Covid wise. We can’t wait to do another one.” Kerry Underdown

“A really good fun event, very well organised, support at every turn and a fantastic location.” Steven London

We were delighted to welcome so many spectators to the event, who gave their all cheering athletes on around the course and over the finish line. We know it makes such a difference to those racing. Thank you to everyone who attended the event respected our social distancing protocols, in place to keep themselves and others safe.

We will be returning to Penshurst Place on Sunday 26th June 2022 and hope to see you there!
