Lough Cutra Castle - Why join us in Galway?

We're back for our 12th Year

We’re back in Galway in 4 weeks time for our 12th edition of Lough Cutra Triathlon and Multisport Festival. After a sunny and very successful year in 2023, we are back for another year!

2024 promises to be bigger and better than ever. We’re looking forward to our first race weekend of the year – we hope you’re ready for some spectacular racing!

The Beautiful Castle and Estate

Did you know that the lake at Lough Cutra is Europe’s largest privately owned lake? The impressive 1,000 acre lake is the perfect place to start your triathlon season. The run takes place in and around the magnificent estate with the bike routes varying fro a short cycle around the lake to a longer cycle deep into the heart of the stunning Burren National Park.

Our Competitor Guide and Gauntlet Guide are full of information that will be useful leading up to race day! If you’d like to learn more about our courses at Lough Cutra, check them out below.

The Mixed Team Relay Returns

Brilliant for elites and first-timers alike, each team of four (2 men, 2 women), completes a mini triathlon each (250m swim, 4.2km bike, 1.1km run) before handing over to their next team member.  In both instances, the drama plays out in the shadow of the castle at each venue and in front of hundreds of spectators.

We are thrilled to be once again hosting the National Mixed Team Relay Club Championships! Clubs from across the country will descend to Galway. For all triathlon clubs we are offering 25% off all races, so enquire with our team today about your exclusive club discount!

However, you don’t have to be in a triathlon club to enter this event! Grab your friends and family and enter a team now for this fun and exhilarating race.
