What a weekend at Lough Cutra !
What an incredible weekend we had last month in Galway! Lough Cutra Castle and Estate offered a spectacular setting to kick off the 2026 Castle Race Series season. Despite the ever-changing weather, the atmosphere remained electric as hundreds of athletes pushed their limits in pursuit of personal triumph—and those well-earned medals at the Castle finish line.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part—you gave it your all, and we couldn’t be prouder! We’re also incredibly grateful to our dedicated team, amazing marshals, volunteers, and all the spectators who came out to cheer you on. Your energy made the event truly special.
Spectacular weekend of sport
We returned to Lough Cutra Castle for the 13th edition to host a series of triathlon, multisport, swim and run races, and what a weekend it was! Despite the unpredictable weather, the atmosphere remained electric as determined athletes took on personal challenges and crossed the finish line—earning their hard-earned medals beneath the striking outline of the Castle.
