Château de Chantilly Race Report
30.08.21

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August, we welcomed nearly 2000 sports enthusiasts to the fabulous setting of the Château de Chantilly, just 50 miles north of Paris in France.

We had a memorable weekend, the athletes once again gave us moments to celebrate and we are very proud of them.

Races of multiple distances took place throughout the weekend – Triathlon, Duathlon, Swim Bike, Swim Run, Marathon, Half Marathon, 10kms. There were experienced athletes and amateurs challenging each other in good spirits despite the slightly gloomy weather.

Our winners

From the first to the last race, everyone gave it their all! Encouraged by the many volunteers and spectators around the course, they entertained us all.

Mathieu Bourlet won the Condé in 1h55, and Reuben Trotter won the Olympique in 2h12. The Marathon podium was very close, with less than a minute separates the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Olivier Langer who won in 2h54 and 33 seconds, ahead of Adrian Potez by only 4 seconds.

Our famous Gauntlet race took place on Sunday, with athletes swimming 1.9 km, cycling 90 km and running 21 km. This year the victory was Laurent Martinou’s in 4h19 and Liana Docquir in a time of 5hr31.

Outstanding participants

Sport is fuelled by emotion, but this year it was especially present thanks to our extraordinary participants.

A big congratulations to Fréderic and his son Wellan. Both active sport lovers, they impressed us with their passion and performance this weekend. Together they want to prove that disability is not a barrier to dreams – mission complete!

And also a big congratulations to Barbara. At 82, she has just celebrated 35 years of competition. She constantly impresses us with her tenacity and proves every day that age is just a number.

The spectators

We were also delighted to host so many cheerful spectators and dedicated crew members throughout the weekend. You never stopped encouraging the participants around the course and over the finish line. A big thank you all, it makes all the difference to the athletes.

And finally, a big thank you to everyone for respecting our health procedures to ensure the safety our athletes, our crew and each other.
