50 Mile Ultra Run
07.06.21

Last summer, our Race Director 50-year-old Brian Adcock ran 50 miles to raise vital funds for our national charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support, in his 50:50:50 challenge. The former Royal Marine set off from Eastbourne, East Sussex, and finished in his village of Bough Beech, near Edenbridge, Kent where he lives with his wife and three children.

The route he took is now launching as Castle Race Series’ first ultra running race, The 50 Miler.

Fully supported with 6 stocked feed stations, this is a beautiful, hilly, mostly off-road 50 miler takes in the South Downs and Ashdown Forest. Starting at Eastbourne Pier, the start of the official South Downs Way, passing Beachy Head and the rolling Seven Sisters and skimming the edge of the Glyndebourne estate, runners follow a series of footpaths along the Sussex Ouse Valley Way all the way to the Ashdown Forest. The descent from the forest brings you through stunning countryside with the home run though the village of Chiddingstone and on to Hever Estate.

The 50 Miler will be part of our Hever Castle Festival of Endurance weekend on Saturday 3rd July 2021.
