5 reasons to take on Commando 2021
29.09.21

Attention! Come challenge yourself at the Hever Castle Commando course on the 16-17 October. Two thousand people will take on the authentic military training course. Here are five reasons why you should sign up…

1. IT'S THE REAL DEAL

This is the only event that can recreate the mud, sweat and pain of modern day Royal Marines Commando training. Whether you complete the 6k or 12k course, you’ll take on some of the toughest obstacles straight out of the Commando test book. Each obstacle will be manned or womaned by serving or former Marine Commandos, so you’ll experience the day like a true Commando.

2. GOOD ENOUGH FOR BEAR GRYLLS

Some of our Commando obstacles recently went on the road and were used as part of Bear Grylls’ Gone Wild Festival at Powderham Castle, Devon. If they’re good enough for Bear and his friends…

3. D-DAY LANDING IS BACK

Your race will start with our D-Day landing craft experience. You’ll experience the thrill and terror of the boat ramp lowering under fire as you storm the Hever Castle grounds and make your way around the course. As you land, make sure you take cover quickly and flee to the next obstacle.

4. OCR WORLD CHAMPS QUALIFIER

This year, Commando is a qualifying event for the OCR World Championships. Unfortunately, due to travel restrictions, a lot regular British participants couldn’t make it to Vermont for the 2021 Championships. We invite all OCR competitors to sign up to Hever Commando Qualifier on Saturday 16th October and get their points in early for the 2022 series. Those who chose this will be timed, and points are awarded in specific categories.

5. SUPPORTING THE ROYAL MARINES CHARITY

This event is in partnership with The Royal Marines Charity, an organisation close to our hearts at Castle Race Series, supporting those in and out of the Marines and their families during difficult times and throughout their lives. The RMC will be at the event so please pop by to speak to them!
