10 reasons to race at Cholmondeley Castle in June 2022

Our first UK triathlon event starts at the beautiful grounds of Cholmondeley Castle. Over 1,500 competitors will race their way across the June weekend. Find out why we think you should not miss this epic event...

1. It's our 12th Anniversary

This year marks 12 years at this spectacular venue. The Castle Race Series team are ready and waiting to host this event yet again – with seven disciplines to choose from, why not choose from a whole range of racing delights!

2. Race covid safe

Castle Race Series has run over 15 events since the beginning of the Pandemic, making sure we follow all current government guidelines and keep our participants/staff safe.

3. We have been awarded a European Duathlon Qualifier

Calling all Age Group racers! Castle Race Series has been awarded two British Triathlon European Duathlon Middle Qualifier. The first takes place at Cholmondeley so join us to be in the with a chance of racing for GB.

4. We welcome the North West Junior Series

This year we are hosting The BTF Northwest Junior Series, so we encourage all local juniors to sign up and earn those valuable places/points!

5. Glorious Cheshire Countryside to run

Missed out on the London March ballot? Fear not! Complete our marathon while filling your lungs with fresh country air. We have a 10k, half marathon taking place on the Sunday too.

6. Race for a good cause

Our Charity Partner Macmillan Cancer Supper still have charity entries available. Why not make a difference, help a fantastic cause and also have fun doing so.

7. The mixed team relay

Cholmondeley Castle is the only event in the series in which we host the mixed team relay. Teams of two men and two women will battle for the top spot, an event not to miss if you fancy racing as a group.


The festival side of our events just gets better and better with a return of our house band and an improved trade village to keep you fed and entertained during the weekend. Bring your family down for an epic weekend of fun!
