This Cheshire castle has been home to the Cholmondeley Family since the 12th Century and its grounds feature Deer Park Mere which is a beautiful setting for our open water swim. To the south of the castle lies Tower Hill, the highest point of the run routes, where athletes are rewarded with panoramic views of the Beeston and Peckforton Hills.
Cholmondeley Castle is located in Cheshire, in north west England, about 1 hour south of Liverpool near the town of Malpas. Nestled within the historic parkland the castle has 70 acres of beautiful gardens to explore.
The nearest major airports are Manchester Airport (MAN) and Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), both around an hour’s drive from Cholmondeley Castle.
The closest train stations are Whitchurch (Shropshire) and Chester, with connections from London, Manchester, and other major cities. From Chester, you can take a taxi or local bus.
For those driving, ferry routes from Dublin to Holyhead or Belfast to Liverpool provide easy access to North West England, with a drive of around 2-3 hours to Cholmondeley Castle. By Road it’s accessible from any part of the UK and drive times will vary.
